TORONTO, Ont. (February 23, 2017) — One lucky winner will be flexing a lot more muscle when they drive home from the Canadian International AutoShow on Friday than when they arrived.
The keys to a gorgeous, customized 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat worth more than $113,000 will be handed out as the Grand Prize in the Rock the Road Raffle on Friday, Feb. 24th at noon in the Auto Exotica exhibit, located in Level 100 in the North Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Trillium Automobile Dealers Association has donated the car in the Rock the Road Raffle to raise funds that will help Prostate Cancer Canada carry out research to fight a disease that affects one in eight Canadian men. The raffle sold out all 20,000 tickets, as it has in each previous year.
Packing 707 horsepower and bristling with classic muscle character, the one-of-a-kind Hellcat has been given numerous custom upgrades by the award-winning automotive team at The Garage in Huntsville.
In addition to the top prize, the Rock the Road Raffle will also award a second prize donated by BG Signature of a two-night stay on a luxury yacht including round-trip airfare for two in Economy Class to Miami, valued at more than $14,000. A third prize donated by Honda Indy Toronto includes a Honda Indy Toronto VIP Race Package for four, including hotel (July 14-16, 2017), valued at $7,000, or the winner can take $5,000 cash.
The AutoShow, which began Friday, Feb. 17th and runs until Sunday, Feb. 26th, continues to be a huge hit, drawing record numbers of people with a mix of the latest vehicles from all major auto manufacturers, entertaining features and interactive exhibits.
Each of the first five days of the show set new records for attendance and the crowd on Day 6 on Wednesday was larger than the same day the previous two years. More than 206,000 people had visited the show by Wednesday night.
Among the highlights on Thursday was Carology, presented by TRADER, which brought together hundreds of automotive industry professionals to hear about the shifting digital landscape, the current state of the auto industry and the implications on the local market.
The AutoShow Live Stage — a new feature at this year’s Show — also included an informative presentation by Georgian College on automotive careers and an OPP session on motorcycle safety.
Coming up on the AutoShow Live Stage on Friday will be an OPP presentation on recruitment at 2 p.m. and a session on buying cars for kids with Mark Toljagic.
